Hard rules are enforced by the mail server, so the assistant cannot go around them. They block actions only — it can still read anything and tell you what it found.

Judgement rather than machinery — sentences it is told before every message, for what a match expression cannot express. Nothing enforces these.
Credentials
Stored encrypted, checked before they are saved, and never shown again — only whether one is set and its last four characters.
